Congratulations to the city for helping to underwrite the purchase of Animas View mobile home park.
We have lived here for 40-plus years, and housing costs have consistently been beyond the reach of what the workforce can afford to pay. I honestly do not know how young families can afford to live here anymore, and they are the heart and soul of any community.
The city’s private/public partnership with the residents of Animas View is a great step toward opening the Durango housing market to working people. Hooray for City Council!
