Hooray for increased emissions standard

I have been a family physician for 30 years and am well aware of the link between the environment, including air quality, and public health.

In the Four Corners, we live under the largest methane cloud in the country because of all the fracking. In addition, the largest determinant of air quality for the country as a whole is transportation.

I’m thrilled the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission will be establishing a Low Emissions Vehicle standard for passenger vehicles at their final hearing on Nov. 15.

I’m also looking forward to the AQCC’s rule-making in the coming months, which will encourage more electric vehicle sales.

Our statewide standards are even more important since the current administration proposed rolling back the federal Clean Car Standards, yet another example of the blatant disregard for our health!
