Well, that didn’t take long.
After reading the story (Herald, Dec. 29) about the state Republican Party threatening Durango School District 9-R, it seems any hope for a civil conversation with Hope Scheppelman was short-lived.
Like most people I know, angry threats make me immediately resistant to those making them, regardless of the topic. Is this a sign of things to come in our local community?
It seems to me that these folks are looking for trouble. Why not leave unsubstantiated claims and innuendo at the coffee shop, among friends, where they belong?
