It appears that there is an alarming frequency of males with any kind of power over women who use their power to take advantage of women sexually. I hope the “outing” of sexual predators and abusers that is currently underway in the public forum grows into a huge movement and puts an end to this sort of thing.
Now is the time for women to speak out. And, men must speak up too, with the voice of no tolerance for abuse, regardless of gender!
What we are witnessing in our society lately is a powerful and necessary step in moving women into a place of greater opportunities for equality in our political, business, and social structure, which would surely be a good thing.
Democracy is all about equal representation, in every way, and respect for all human beings. In fact, if a dramatic shift occurred in favor of women, I believe this country could have a major transformation in a very positive sense.
Let us hope the outing continues and its message to all abusers, notably men with any intent to sexually abuse or disrespect another person’s body, becomes clear: they cannot get away with it.
One can hope.
