House of Representatives smart guys

Whether it’s making Medicaid nearly inaccessible (see “Big, Beautiful Bill”); assaulting immigrant mothers in the middle of the night; attacking Social Security under the false pretext of eliminating “fraud and abuse”; ceding Congressional authority to Trump without a fight; or watching while our judiciary comes under attack as Trump goes for total control of our government, the House of Representatives’ GOP has shown itself as the full blown Trump/MAGA supporters they always were, with some playing it too smart to say so up front.

What justifications do they float for taking actions that will directly negatively impact their constituents, whom they have repeatedly sworn to protect? By their actions, whatever they say will be empty words.

At least come out and say it. Say that you will do whatever you are told and support Trump no matter what. Stop spouting feeble rhetoric about how you care about your constituents and the U.S. Constitution. Proudly conjoin with all GOP stalwarts while they beat their chests, gratified that they have attacked the most vulnerable, ’cuz few things feel better than laying it on someone who cannot fight back. Ask ICE’s Tom Homan. He’ll tell ya.

If benefit of the doubt is to be given, it would be that some representatives intended to do the right thing. The benefit/doubt thing stops there. In less than six months, that intent has been abandoned and playing D.C. games is the order of the day. Smart guys know honor has no place in the “brain game.”
