The nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court said at a hearing recently, “No one is above the law and that includes our president.”
I gave a sigh of relief because a senator at this hearing mentioned President Donald Trump wanting to pick a judge who will overturn Roe vs. Wade when he was on the campaign trail. Within a fraction of a second, Neil Gorsuch responded by saying to the world, “I would walk out of the door if told to do that by the president.”
As much as I would like to see our president make a successful run, his track record so far is disappointing, to say the least.
During the health care discussion, he tweeted to all of us to watch Fox hostess Judge Jeanine (JJ). Of course, advertisers scrambled with extra cash for commercials to have a “spot” on Fox News.
Paul Ryan, Republican speaker of the House, was encouraged to “step down” by JJ. She had mega-praises for “The Prez,” and Ryan was blindsided because of the poorly written Republican health care bill that did not pass muster.
Trump was walking around before this big vote with veiled threats to the ones voting on this health bill. Paul Ryan was left holding the bag.
Then, Ryan was slammed and a fact-checker revealed over 300 untruths told in the first 66 days Trump has been in office. No parent would allow their child five untruths a day.
I know there is not a manual out on how to be presidential. Please, anyone with pull, write something up that has to be signed by our president. The definition of insanity is when the same ol’ same ol’ is repeated with the same bad results.
We have had more than 66 days of the same ol’ stuff and need a better outcome than just a few more manufacturing jobs.
