How to help with the 416 Fire

Food bank seeks donations

Here are the latest ways, as of June 11, you can help people working on the 416 Fire and evacuees.

Monetary donations

Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado is accepting monetary donations for Community Emergency Relief Fund. To donate, send a check to The Community Foundation, P.O. Box 1673, Durango, CO 81302 or donate online at www.swcommunityfoundation.org.

Donating goods

Donations of clothing and household items accepted at Discover Goodwill of Durango, 1230 Escalante Drive.Durango Food Bank is providing food assistance to those who were evacuated.The food bank will hold donation drives to collect items for displaced residents today at south City Market, 6 Town Plaza, and Tuesday at Walmart, 1111 South Camino del Rio.

Residents who take Rapid Tag evacuation cards can receive special emergency food assistance. No other documentation will be required to obtain food and household items.

County Administration, 1101 East Second Ave.Clerk and Recorder’s Office, 98 Everett St., Suite CSheriff’s Office Administration, 742 Turner DriveRoad & Bridge/Engineering, 1365 South Camino del RioThe Durango Food Bank will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday.
