Colorado Parks and Wildlife is seeking hunter education instructors. A class for instructors is scheduled for May 30 and May 31 in Durango.
Hunter education prepares new hunters to go into the field. The classes provide instruction on regulations, firearms safety, how to hunt and wildlife management. Completing a hunter education class is required before licenses can be purchased.
Those interested in teaching classes must apply through the CPW website, allow a background check and have a personal interview. All applicants must have completed a hunter safety course, have hunting experience and be at least 21 years old. The background check takes some time, so those interested should apply soon. The application and background check must be completed by May 1.
