I-70 reopens in Glenwood Canyon after rock slides

GLENWOOD SPRINGS (AP) – Interstate 70 through Glenwood Canyon in Western Colorado has reopened to two-way traffic, but officials are warning to expect delays.

Lanes opened in both directions at about 4 p.m. Thursday. Pace cars are leading traffic through the canyon, and repairs are expected to continue over the next month.

A 24-mile stretch of the highway east of Glenwood was shut down Feb. 15 after rocks tumbled onto the road. A boulder the size of a small car crashed into a truck, but no one was injured.
