I find Kaepernick’s disrespect disgusting

It is disappointing to see a man who has been given every opportunity to succeed decide that he needs to disrespect our flag and national anthem by sitting (he has now decided to kneel) rather than standing.

We should all encourage people to speak their minds and express their opinions, but it needs to be done in a respectful manner. To show this level of disrespect is an embarrassment to all Americans, especially veterans that have sacrificed so much.

Colin Kaepernick has every right to protest, but he is a national figure, or at least the media has made him a figure of some notoriety, and as such he has a responsibility to set an example.

Would it not be better to provide a positive influence on the African American community by encouraging young people to strive to be their best?

He has an opportunity to influence all young people. Why not use it for the good of the people?
