Poem: I Sit in My Room

I sit in my room looking back

Back at the memories I hold close

So close to my heart and mind

Wishing I could be back in those moments

Wishing I could feel that way again

Being happy with my family

Being back in that place with them

Just talking and hanging out with them

But this isn’t a fantasy

No, it is not

So instead I sit alone

Alone in my room looking back
