I am speaking out against the misleading recall effort targeting La Plata County Commissioner Gwen Lachelt.
Above all, I support Commissioner Lachelt’s rational protection of our environment, and oppose external money influencing and manipulating local politics.
I oppose Americans For Prosperity, a Koch brothers-funded group that recently started a local chapter in La Plata County, and their efforts to unseat Lachelt as part of a national strategy to oust progressive, local elected officials from office.
A special election is a waste of taxpayer dollars and must be prevented. I urge my friends and neighbors not to sign the petition and to help spread the word ( #Decline2Sign).
