I will vote against Boebert in primary

I am beyond embarrassed that Lauren Boebert is representing me in Congress.

My career has included a host of political campaigns. When asked what an electable modern candidate looks like, I once answered sarcastically: “I would look for a citizen with no moral compass, an accomplished baldfaced liar, a con artist, a self-serving shyster who will ride blindly for the brand, will shoot first and explain later, would never apologize for mistakes, who exemplifies delusional egotism, lacks even a shred of empathy, and believes blindly that whatever comes out of the low-octane mess in their head is the only version of an alternative truth you will ever need to know.” My own congresswoman checks every one of these boxes. Being proven right for all the wrong reasons is no consolation. We can and should do better.

Today, I took a proactive decision to right this wrong. I signed on to the state of Colorado voter registration page at: https://www.coloradosos.gov/voter/pages/pub/olvr/findVoterReg.xhtml, and in two minutes, I changed my previous party affiliation to “unaffiliated.” I then checked the box to receive a Republican primary ballot. I will vote this ballot for Sen. Don Coram, a non-Trumpian Republican candidate and a well-respected and highly experienced public servant from state Senate District 6.

On June 28, after the primary vote sends Lauren Boebert “packing” back to Shooters Bar, I will then look to vote in November for the candidate who best protects the environment, women’s rights, voter access and our fragile democracy.
