ICE’s dehumanizing language and intimidation tactics

The demeaning name “Catch of the Day” reveals the dehumanizing nature of Trump’s immigration policies. Likening immigrants to fish one might catch for supper rather than human beings is shocking and outrageous. It trivializes the lives of people and hardens ICE agents against immigrants, encouraging agents to see immigrants as prey, not humans.

The “Ace of Spades” calling cards being left by ICE agents on detainees’ cars is a further act of intimidation. It is a tool meant to create fear and distress in a community. What is next? Yellow Stars of David sewn on clothing and painted on homes and businesses?

The outrage against this should be uniform, regardless of party, but as fellow human beings.
