The Ignacio SkySox, a traveling baseball team of 9- and 10-year-old players, competed last week in a baseball tournament in Farmington, taking second place among six teams. Players are from Ignacio and Bayfield and include Lance Mazur, Bennett Burns, Caleb Smith, Teagan Taylor, Deegan Barnes, Jacob Gallegos, Tomas Gonzales, Noah Chamblee and Davante Montoya. They are coached by Tim Burns and Nick Gallegos. The placing qualified the team to play in the New Mexico state baseball tournament in Santa Fe in July.
