A 20-point game from Jayden Brunson was enough for the Ignacio High School girls basketball team to beat Telluride on Saturday. But plenty other Bobcats chipped in, too.
Avaleena Nanaeto added 13 points, Charlize Valdez finished with 11, and the Ignacio Bobcats strolled at home to beat Telluride 62-15.
Ignacio (7-1, 4-0 2A/1A San Juan Basin League) led 25-2 after one quarter and 37-5 at halftime in the lopsided win.
Telluride (1-6, 0-3 SJBL) received eight points from senior Lila Renke in the loss.
Class 2A No. 13 Ignacio played four games during the week, including three in three days with big wins against Class 3A No. 7 Pagosa Springs and Class 2A Sargent.
That should help the Bobcats improve in next week’s CHSAANow.com rankings before Tuesday’s road contest at Dolores.
