Ignacio High School theater to stage ‘Frozen’

Fundraiser dinner will be served before shows
Ignacio High School theater students, from left, Eli Aremendariz as Hans, Elizabeth Valdez as Elsa, Bird Red as Weselton and Jeffrey Brittain as Kristoff, rehearse for next week’s production of “Frozen.”

Ignacio High School theater students will take the stage at the school Wednesday and Thursday for their production of “Frozen.”

“Frozen” is the story of sisters Anna and Elsa: When a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, Anna teams up with Kristoff and his sidekick reindeer Sven on an epic journey to find Elsa, the Snow Queen, and put an end to her icy spell and save the kingdom from destruction.

As with their most recent production of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” the students will host a fundraising dinner before “Frozen” both nights. Money raised will go to the school’s next play and to student trips – this year, they hope to travel to New York City to catch a Broadway play.

“Frozen” will be performed at 6 p.m. Wednesday and 7 p.m. Thursday at the high school, 315 Ignacio St. Dinner being served an hour before each show. Admission is $10, with children younger than 3 free. Tickets for dinner are $7 for adults, $5 for students and free for children 3 and younger.
