Ignacio shut out 34-0 by Dolores

It was senior night at Dolores High School and Ignacio was the unfortunate guest.

The Bears and their seniors celebrated by dominating the Bobcats (0-9, 0-5 1A Southern Peaks) from start to finish in a 34-0 shutout.

Dolores quarterback Jalen Balderrama led the way for the Bears (3-6, 1-4 1A SPL) with four total touchdowns, two on the ground and two through the air. Running back and wide receiver Tristan Medina added a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown in the win.

The Bears got out to a fast start. Balderrama’s 24-yard run put Dolores ahead early but a missed extra point made it a 6-0 lead. Medina’s 8-yard scamper gave the home team a 13-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and it was all downhill for Ignacio from there.

Quarterback Zack Weinreich was 8-17 for 74 yards in the game. Lawrence Valdez led the team with five catches for 32 yards and Stocker Robbins had two catches for 40 yards.
