Friday morning news update:
The BHS boys basketball squad lost the first round of the district tourney Thursday night to Monte Vista, 38-53. It was a great season, guys! We are proud of you! The BHS girls play tonight against Pagosa Springs, and the Ignacio girls and boys play tonight in Cortez in round 1 of the San Juan Basin League district tournament.
Like a skateboarder over an obstacle, Ignacio's Clayton Jefferson (11) made it over a falling Norwood Maverick on his way to the hoop during the Cats Feb. 21 road win up north in San Miguel County. In districts at Montezuma-Cortez, the boys play at 5:30 Friday night against Mancos, with the winner going to the championship at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
