The city of Durango will be completing in-river maintenance of the boulder structures at the water intake directly above Durango Whitewater Park adjacent to Santa Rita Park starting Tuesday. The contractor anticipates it will be complete by the end of March.
The construction area above Whitewater Park will be closed to all boating activity and river use during the construction process. The Animas River Trail through Whitewater Park at Santa Rita is expected to remain open during the construction project. Traffic control will be in place to allow for construction equipment to cross the trail. Trail users may experience minor delays.
