I’ve never written a letter to the editor before, but I am moved to do so after reading the article in the Herald (Feb. 14) regarding Christopher and Phoebe Balchunas.
I am both a driver and a cyclist, but this is not one of those letters complaining about the bad habits of one or the other.
This is a letter to pay tribute to the humbling and forgiving manner in which both Christopher and Phoebe have chosen to respond to the driver who struck Christopher.
In today’s world of incessant political conflict and disagreement, it is incredibly refreshing to see two individuals think first of the person that harmed one of them and respond in such a forgiving and caring manner.
What an example to live by – thank you for such a wonderful example of personal leadership!
