CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Authorities say an infant abducted in southern Wyoming has been found safe in Colorado.
Cheyenne police say 1-year-old Gregory Marks was found in Aurora about 10 p.m. Thursday with 26-year-old Mijito Johnson, who was thought to have taken the child earlier that day.
Police say Johnson is the boyfriend of the boy’s mother. He was taken into custody.
Police say officers with the Aurora Police Department found Johnson’s vehicle abandoned in a parking lot and located him a short distance away at his brother’s residence.
Johnson remains in police custody in Colorado and a warrant has been issued for his extradition to Wyoming.
The Amber Alert that was issued Thursday for the boy was canceled.
