Colorado Department of Transportation and Colorado Transportation Commission members on Wednesday and Thursday will tour Southwest Colorado as part of National Infrastructure Week – a week of education and advocacy about the importance of infrastructure.
Transportation staff will discuss the role of transportation in the state economy with local elected officials, community leaders and stakeholders, and highlight completed and needed projects in the area.
The tour will meet Wednesday at project locations north of Durango, including:
U.S. Highway 550: Riverside snow shed lighting (currently in progress)U.S. Highway 550: Red Mountain and Molas passes crib walls (completed 2017).U.S. Highway 550: Purgatory Resort and Coal Bank Pass chain station (completed 2015).A meeting to highlight Southwest Colorado projects will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday on the walking trail at the intersection of Wilson Gulch Road and High Llama Lane, near the junction of U.S. Highways 160 and 550 east of Durango.
