The “Arc of History” (Herald, April 5) needs to be installed in Lubbock, Texas. The late Molly Ivins described her hometown this way: “No, those are not little green Monopoly houses sitting on a hot griddle – that’s Lubbock.” A town sitting on a windswept prairie needs an Arc of History to give it a boost, some oomph. I hereby move that such a triumph of man’s genius be installed in poor, old Lubbock, Texas. It’s downright selfish of Durango folks to want an arc when you already have Engineer Mountain.
