Online registration for the 46th Iron Horse Bicycle Classic on May 27-28, will be available on
Durango residents will have the opportunity to register between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Dec. 2 at Mountain Bike Specialists, 949 Main Ave.
The weekend events will include classic rides to Silverton, such as the McDonald’s Citizen’s Tour and Durango Coca-Cola Road Race, along with the Quarter Horse to Purgatory, King and Queen of the Mountain, Sprite Kids Race, Morehart Murphy Subaru Mountain Bike Race, Durango Cyclery Cruiser Crit, test gravel ride, the Alpine Bank push bike park and kids village, a BMX demo, Gold Star Families and Blue Star Moms and downtown activities.
The Veterans Train will leave the station in Durango at 8 a.m. May 27, and cyclists embracing the annual tradition will race the narrow gauge steam engine 50 miles to Silverton. A ceremony will be held in the Silverton Memorial Park after the train reaches its destination.
