Colorado Department of Transportation will close the section of U.S. Highway 550 from Durango to Silverton on Saturday for the annual Iron Horse Bicycle Classic:
7 a.m., southbound traffic will be diverted from U.S. Highway 550 to County Road 203 from Hermosa Creek to Animas View Drive.7:30 a.m., closures will occur according to the start times of three events; northbound lanes on Camino del Rio will close from the railroad depot to Animas View Drive.8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., both lanes of U.S. Highway 550 will be closed from Purgatory Resort to Silverton.For more information, call 209-3332 or email highwayinfocolorado@gmail.com.
