If you’re so inclined, you have about three weeks to vote for Durango as the Best U.S. Cycling Town in an online contest being promoted by USA TODAY.
Durango – the home of the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic, a 7-mile river trail and tons of renowned mountain bike rides in or near city limits – periodically gets mentioned as best this or best that. This time it’s the 10Best Readers’ Choice travel award contest.
Visit www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-u-s-cycling-town to vote. You can vote once a day. Voting ends April 14, and winners will be announced April 16.
The 20 nominated cities were picked with the help of former road bike racer George Hincapie. Three are Colorado towns, but actually the next closest to Durango is Moab, Utah. The full list:
