I just read your endorsement of Walker Stapleton for Colorado governor, and though I do not share his position on any issue, I take strong issue with the basis for your endorsement.
I typically value a newspaper editorial endorsement because it delves deeper than the shallow back-and-forth of our current discourse. Your endorsement was fatally simplistic and astoundingly shallow. It lacked intellectual substance.
Colorado is on a path to an arid, charred land without funding for education or infrastructure, and health care is fleeing rural Colorado – issues so beyond your orbit that I must wonder if the Herald is a Ballantine marionette.
Stapleton says he’s staying the course and that’s good enough? And you don’t believe he’d privatize everything? You must love plutocracy.
Jared Polis made money, thus trying to buy our votes? Citizens United black money is buying our whole state government! Polis is for controlling health care costs, which will help me to not die. I find that slightly more important than that the Herald thinks he won’t succeed.
Your endorsement supports status quo and privatizing our state government. Stapleton is a Trump candidate. Your editorial integrity has plummeted with me.
