Martha Iverson of Durango pedaled her way to a national title Wednesday at the 2021 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships in Dupage County, Illinois.

Competing in the age 70-74 division, Iverson didn’t let the wind slow her down on the 3.4-kilometer course. Iverson, who rides for DNA Cycling Masters, would go on to ride a smooth consistent race resulting in her winning big.

Two other cyclists from Durango also reached the podium on Wednesday.

Caleb Thompson (Victory Bicycle Studio/Scott) finished third in the masters men 35-39 division.

Richard Bagienski also finished third in his division, masters men 75-79.

The Fort Lewis Cycling team will begin their title hunt on Thursday with the varsity women and varsity men races.
