J. Paul Brown has earned our support

State Rep. J. Paul Brown has always impressed me as a true gentleman. He is a humble man of honesty and integrity who has served the constituents of state House District 59 well, representing us all, but especially the farmers and ranchers on the Western Slope.

As a rancher, he understands the special needs and concerns of rural Coloradans, our land and specifically our water issues. As a former school board member, he is an avid supporter of education.

He also fights to eliminate the red tape that burdens our Colorado economy.

With seemingly endless energy, he tirelessly drives around District 59, getting input from those he represents. Last April, his bill to study water storage on the dry eastern plains of Colorado received a 65-0 victory in the House. Called HB 1256, this South Platte water storage bill, was then passed unanimously by the Senate and signed into law by Gov. Hinkenlooper. The intent of this bill is to protect much of our precious water from ending up in Nebraska, as it has for years.

In June, Rep. Brown received the Pinnacle Award, the Colorado Farm Bureau’s most prestigious legislative award, recognizing legislators who advance agricultural causes.

This month, he was awarded “Legislator of the Year” by the Colorado Civil Justice League, a group that fights frivolous lawsuits.

Brown is a man of his word who cares deeply about the people he serves. Please support and re-elect J. Paul Brown, a true American patriot, a man with common-sense solutions who fights for our beautiful Southwest Colorado.
