The Herald got it wrong again by endorsing Dan Huntington over Jeff Mannix for the La Plata Electric Association board. We have no more time for going slow on moving toward renewable energy and away from Tri-State and dirty coal. The climate is changing and there is scientific evidence which is being supported more and more by the super hurricanes and devastating storms that are now ravaging the planet.
The go-slow naysayers out there are sticking their collective heads farther into the sand if they think climate change will simply go away if we just wait for a while. Well folks, it ain’t going away unless we get with the program and work to get rid of dirty coal.
We need to retire the old guard and elect forward-thinking leaders. It is past time to move ahead with renewables and shuck Tri-State and dirty coal.
Those who don’t want to pay more for their power hopefully will wake up and pay attention to our children’s and grandchildren’s future as well as all future generations. What is the cost of that?
We do not have time to fool around. Vote for Jeff Mannix.
