Jenkins let go by Rams

Just a day after throwing his first NFL pass for the Rams, Tim Jenkins is looking for a new team to throw passes for.

The former Fort Lewis College quarterback was let go by St. Louis on Sunday after seeing the first preseason action of his career Saturday night for the Rams against Denver.

Jenkins said in a Twitter message that he and his agent will begin searching for a new landing spot, likely a practice squad assignment.

The former FLC signal caller made his long-awaited preseason debut Saturday in a 27-26 loss to the Broncos. Jenkins completed his only pass attempt, throwing for seven yards in his only drive. He was replaced by Kellen Clemens on St. Louis’ next drive.

For Jenkins, who was a prep standout at ThunderRidge High School in Highlands Ranch, getting to play at Sports Authority Field at Mile High was the chance of a lifetime.

“Honestly, it was a dream come true,” Jenkins said. “Used to watch games up in the nosebleeds at that stadium.”

Jenkins finished his career third in completions with 715, fourth in passing yards with 7,040 and fourth in passing touchdowns with 39 in his four years at Fort Lewis, which ended after last season.
