The Multi-Cultural Committee of Ignacio School District awarded Joel Priest as February’s Character Counts Person of the Month. The award honors trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, character and citizenship.
Joel Priest is a freelance sports writer for The Durango Herald and the Southern Ute Drum.
“Joel works hard to rush to as many games as he can. He does a great job getting stats out on Facebook, he announces at games even when being asked at the last minute and writes great stories about all athletes for the Herald and the Drum,” said Janet Reinhardt, executive secretary for Ignacio School District. “Joel has a great passion for athletes and is a great guy!”
