Join the fight to end Alzheimer's

I just attended the 2021 Alzheimer’s Impact Movement Advocacy Forum. Held virtually this year, over 1,200 Alzheimer’s advocates from across the nation met with members of Congress to discuss priorities for Alzheimer’s and other dementia.

During this event, I met with the offices of Sen. John Hickenlooper and Rep. Lauren Boebert to explain why Congress must continue to prioritize legislative action focused on Alzheimer’s and other dementia. Specifically, I asked them to co-sponsor the Comprehensive Care for Alzheimer’s Act (S 1125/HR 2517), the ENACT Act (S 1548/HR 3085), and the Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Act (S 56/HR 1474). The Alzheimer’s Association and I are urging the rest of the Colorado delegation to Congress to invest in policies that address the critical national public health challenge that Alzheimer’s poses. Thank you to Sen. Michael Bennet, who has already joined as a co-sponsor for these important bills.

More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, including 76,000 in Colorado, with 158,000 unpaid caregivers. As an Alzheimer’s advocate, it is my honor to represent them.
