Throwing for nearly 2,000 yards and leading the Ignacio High School football team to its best record since 2009 landed quarterback Adison Jones on the CHSAA Class 1A All-State team.

Jones, a three-year starter, compiled 1,997 passing yards and 25 touchdowns to just seven interceptions his junior season. His yardage and touchdown totals led Class 1A.

Wiggins’ Dalton Risner was named the Class 1A Player of the Year.

The team is presented by CHSAANow.com, ColoradoPreps.com and MaxPreps.com and were tabulated via nominations from coaches and leagues, then a final coaches’ vote.

Jones also plays forward for the Bobcats’ basketball team, which currently is undefeated, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A by CHSAANow.com and recently won the San Juan Basin League regular-season championship.
