For the first time in my memory, we had a Durango Police officer firing his weapon at an individual who was carrying a rifle in a residential neighborhood. This was after shots had already been fired into a house nearby.
Why did it take the Herald three days to report this (July 26)? Why was this story on the last page and not a front page headline. The front page stories during the interim were about trout and the humane society.
Journalism is truly a lost art, at least for the Herald. Do all your reporters take the weekends off?
