The resurfacing project planned for Junction Creek Road that would have closed the road from April 13-30 has been canceled, Forest Service officials announced Thursday.
The Forest Service had planned to close a portion of Junction Creek Road to all public use between the San Juan National Forest Service boundary at the end of County Road 204 and the campground for a resurfacing project.
Now, access will not be affected, though Forest Service officials said in a prepared statement the annual motorized closure will remain in effective until May 1.
The release said the Forest Service “is exploring other options to maintain the surface of the unpaved portion of the road past the Forest boundary in the future and apologizes for any inconvenience in this last-minute change of plans.”
