As we celebrated the Independence Day weekend that we all treasure so much, I could not forget that before the British forefathers established the current government back east, the Spanish and French on tribal lands had already established governments in communities (witness the French and Spanish named cities and towns) all over the Southeast, South, Southwest and the West.
