We would like to encourage people to continue to shop and donate to the La Plata County Humane Society Thrift Store. Profits from the store are the primary source for funding the shelter, covering operating costs and work done for homeless animals by the staff. We have found that the current thrift store administration fosters positive attitudes with volunteers and staff. Having volunteered for several years at the thrift store, we have seen how necessary changes have streamlined processing donations, creating more efficient operations. Throughout the recent operational transitions, we have always felt welcome as volunteers, and realize that our time goes toward helping homeless animals.
