I have been volunteering for Melissa Youssef since she started her campaign. I am enjoying the experience and exposure to the world of politics. It has been wonderful working with Melissa and I find her to be kind, compassionate and hard working. She possesses a strong desire to maintain the character and quality of life that we as Durangoans have come to expect and appreciate.
While raising three wonderful kids, she managed to start and run a successful medical billing service, Pyramid Billing, Inc. In addition, she served in key roles on a multitude of boards which including president of the board of both Animas High School and the Durango Discovery Museum; as a member of Durango School District 9R Board of Education, Trails 2000 Board of Directors and Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
I believe that serving on our city council would be the ideal next step for Melissa so she can continue to use her many talents and ideas to move Durango forward in the years to come. It is my opinion that she will make an excellent city councilor as she works towards addressing major issues that face our community such as homelessness, panhandling in our downtown business district, economic growth and diversity, affordable housing, organic parks and transportation.
