The Ballantine Family Fund is providing funding to support kindergarten readiness.
The Early Childhood Council of La Plata County is partnering with Pine River Library to provide workshops for parents and informal caregivers and their preschool-age children before entering kindergarten.
Workshops will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. every fourth Wednesday of the month at the library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive. The first workshop, “Way with Words: Language,” will be held Wednesday.
The six Play & Learn Workshops will focus on key categories of kindergarten readiness and share developmentally appropriate activities to support growth in early literacy, math and motor and social emotional skills.
The focus will be on children who are not currently enrolled in preschool to ensure they receive similar types of kindergarten readiness support.
