“Kinky Boots,’ the 2013 Tony Awards champ in terms of both nominations (13) and prizes (six, including best musical), is launching a national tour.
“These Boots were made for touring!” read the exultant press release, announcing that the trek would begin – where else? – in Las Vegas, at the new Smith Center for the Performing Arts, in September 2014.
“We are so excited to take ‘Kinky Boots’ from coast to coast, so that the entire country can share in the joyousness that our audiences on Broadway experience every night,” producer Daryl Roth said in a statement.
Other dates are to be announced.
