If it’s not bad enough that we as a nation have had to witness the day-by-day dismantling of our democracy and institutions, but we have had the added bonus over the past few years of hearing about our own local city government’s misconduct, with accusations of impropriety and libel within city council, expensive and time-consuming complaints against each other, with one councilman as the disruptive common denominator in all of this.
I, for one, have had enough of these shenanigans. So, it is with a breath of fresh air and relief to hear that Kip Koso is running for City Council. I have had the pleasure of working with Kip on the Local First board of directors, one of the nonprofits he is associated with.
Kip is a consensus-builder, a leader and a clear communicator. He listens to all viewpoints while also keeping his eye on the big picture with regard to issues. He is a Durango native who knows this town, knows the issues facing us regarding housing, day care and infrastructure concerns. He cares deeply about our community as evidenced by his years of nonprofit volunteer involvement with the Boys & Girls Club and Local First, to name a couple.
Kip will move us forward in a sustainable, exciting and friendly direction. Please join me in voting in April for Kip Koso for City Council.
