Andrew Gulliford will speak to the Kiwanis Club of Durango at noon Thursday at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
Gulliford is a professor of history and environmental studies at Fort Lewis College. He also writes a monthly column for The Durango Herald about regional topics in the Southwest.
The event is open to the public, and an optional lunch will be provided for $13.
