Know the ramifications of Amendment 79

I was brought up in a household where politics were not discussed. I thought my parents’ silence was due to complacency. On the contrary, in their silence, they were weighing out the consequences of their votes.

Voting was a responsibility that reflected the world they wanted to offer their children and their children’s children. Voting, working, respecting the law, putting God first, and having an allegiance to America and family were nonnegotiable.

Never in my wildest nightmares would I imagine that the great state of Colorado would be one of seven states where abortion is legal at all stages of pregnancy. Yet, while “choice” is embedded in the pro-abortion movement, they are now seeking to eliminate the “choice” of parents and taxpayers through Amendment 79.

If passed, Amendment 79 will be added to the Colorado Constitution creating a constitutional “right” to unrestricted abortion that allows for taxpayer-funded abortion. It will repeal the current ban on public funding, ban any limits on late abortions and ban parental notice laws for minors getting abortions.

Amendment 79 will allow state Legislature to use taxes to pay for abortions. Taxpayers will have no choice in the matter! Parents will be left out of their daughter’s abortion decisions, including abortions forced by boyfriends or abusers.

These are the ramifications of Amendment 79. Whether you are pro-life or pro-abortion, get informed. Weigh out the consequences of your vote. Does it reflect the world that you want? Choose wisely. You only get one choice.
