Kris Oyler, CEO of Peak Brewing Co., has been awarded the “Ed Morlan Economic Development Leader of the Year” by the Region 9 Economic Development District board of directors.

Every year, Region 9 EDD’s board honors a Southwest Colorado leader who goes beyond their paid roles and responsibilities to make a significant positive impact improving our communities. The Ed Morlan Economic Development Leadership Award, named after Region 9’s first executive director, was first given in 2001.

His resume includes past service as board chairman for the Durango Area Tourism Office; president and vice president for the Durango Chapter of the Colorado Restaurant Association; two terms on the board of directors for the Colorado Brewers Guild; serving on the State Employee Ownership Commission, and he is a past officer for the Durango Business Improvement District. Currently, Oyler serves on the Region 9 Loan Committee as vice chairman.
