La Plata County commissioners will hold a public meeting to discuss natural gas pipeline safety and the designated roles of state and local entities from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, in the board room of the administration building, 1101 East Second Ave.
Staff members from the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission will give a presentation about the Firestone home explosion in April that was triggered by an abandoned gas line, discuss how the agency will prevent future incidents and explain the larger context of natural gas pipelines and public safety.
