This Plymouth rock rooster is among the 4-H poultry entries at the La Plata County Fair. The 4-H poultry judging was Thursday morning. Fair activities run through Sunday afternoon in Durango.
Thursday was judging day in the Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall. Judges were busy with home crafts including quilts, clothing, baked goods, food preservation, and kids' crafts.
The baby duck water slide is popular with spectators again this year. On Thursday the ducklings were still figuring out the routine. Every couple minutes one would zip down the sslide and land in the water cheeping and paddling like crazy until it found the ramp to get back up to the top. The duck slide is in the poultry and rabbit barn.
These bronze turkey hens are being shown by Ryan Leach from the Supershooters 4-H Club.
The Bayfield Heritage Days sheep is part of the San Juan Woolgrowers display at the La Plata County Fair.
