La Plata County to conduct chip-and-seal projects

Three projects will be underway east of Durango

La Plata County Road and Bridge Department will conduct three chip-and-seal projects:

July 31-Aug. 3: Work will be conducted on a 5.6-mile section of County Road 501, from the intersection at County Road 501A to the intersection at County Road 502.

Aug. 7-8: Work will be conducted on a 2.9-mile section of County Road 240, near its intersection with County Road 243.

Aug. 9: Work will be conducted on a 1.6-mile section of County Road 243, from its intersection with County Road 240 to where the asphalt ends north of the intersection.

Work crews will be active from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Traffic will be reduced to one lane while chip-and-seal projects are in progress, and a pilot car will be used to guide vehicles through work zones. Motorists can expect delays of up to 20 minutes and are urged to drive cautiously through work zones.

Projects will conclude on scheduled completion dates, weather permitting.
