La Plata Open Space Conservancy will host a weed mitigation workshop Saturday, June 19, as part of its Southwest Stewardship Series, funded by Great Outdoors Colorado.

La Plata County’s Weed Control Manager Ben Bain will discuss identification and management best practices for common species in the area. Chemical, mechanical and biological control methods will be addressed.

The workshop will take place about 20 minutes south of Durango and directions will be provided to registrants. The event is free of charge and open to all landowners and interested community members, but registration is required.
